NEET UG Overview
NEET UG, conducted annually by the National Testing Agency, serves as the entrance exam for undergraduate courses such as MBBS, BDS, BSMS, and BAMS in all medical and dental colleges across India. The 2024 NEET UG exam was held on May 5 in a pen-and-paper format from 2 pm to 5:20 pm across 571 cities in India and 14 cities abroad, with a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes. NEET UG 2024: Marking Scheme
The NEET UG 2024 written test comprises a total of 720 marks, divided among three subjects: Chemistry (180 marks), Physics (180 marks), and Biology (360 marks, further split into Zoology and Botany with 180 marks each). Students earn 4 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect response. No marks are awarded or deducted for skipped questions. If a question is answered with more than one option, 1 mark is deducted.
The expected cut-off for this year is anticipated to be similar to the previous year. For general category medical candidates, the cut-off is expected to be between 715–117, and for General PH candidates, it is 116–105.
